i had this dvd box set but my sister took it to watch and now its gone forever.

its the best box-set ever. two commentaries for each episode. lost the booklet though.

just watched the pilot and holy moly that homecoming scene.

After Larry Sanders Show and Ben Stiller Show, this was Judd Apatows first REAL writing success and launched him and his friends (seth rogan, james franco, jason segel) from this show to super stardom. It's their style of comedy so if you like 40 year old virgin, knocked up, forgetting sarah marshall etc it is that style of comedy but high school based. Also he went on to do 'Undeclared' which is a college version of freaks and geeks (same actors, diff characters) and now is doing 'Girls' which is a post college version.

It's not like Arrested Development, basically.

I didn't find it hugely funny but it kept my attention which is rare for a tv show.

Is there a second series of this? Might finish the first season tonight.
