Derek B was a pioneer for uk hip hop. One of the first to do it here. But unfortunately there was a divide between uk rappers who sounded American like Derek B and those who created their own sound. That divide ended his short career, but god dammit he was dope as fuck.

Somewhere on a hard drive i have a pre-nwa dr dre mixtape thing when he was nothing but a mere dj. Think it was all 80s hip hop.
